The emergence of Honourable Adekunle Akinlade through a credible process as the gubernatorial candidate All Progressives Congress is a popular choice in accordance with the guidelines of the party and must be allowed to stand in the interest of justice and fairness.
This is the opinion of Yewa elders’ council as made known by the chairman Chief Ajibola Olagbayi while addressing the press on the just concluded APC gubernatorial primary elections and other political issues in the state held at the residence of late Deacon Poju Adeyemi.
The essence of this press conference by Yewa Elders’ Council is to call for justice to be put into consideration in resolving the issues surrounding the emergence of Honourable Adekunle Akinlade as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
Chief Olagbayi tracing the issues that led to the unanimous choice of Honourable Akinlade as the candidate of the party said said it is the time of the Ogun West to have the opportunity of leading the state.
Chief Olagbayi said the guidelines of the party was dully followed and the requirements of the constitution complied with in arriving at the outcome of the primary election and the result is a representation of the popular choice.
The chairman therefore called on the National Working Committee to respect the choice of the people of the state made on Tuesday second of October.
He called on all stakeholders to speak out against the seeming injustice and asked the teeming supporters to remain calm.
Other members of the council also spoke on the need to respect the choice of a process that was generally applauded to be transparent, credible and fair.
They promised to continue to toe the path of peace and amicable resolution.
