Amosun Eulogises Retired Hos, Nine Others As They Bow Out Of Service

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described the retired Heads of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande, as a man of distinctive character, which stands him out and contributed to his emergence as the number one civil servant in the State.

          Governor Amosun who stated this during a send-off programme, organised for retired Head of Service and nine Permanent Secretaries, held at the Arcade Ground, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, said his calmness, humility and resilience distinguished him from most of his predecessors.

          The Governor who attributed success recorded by his administration so far, to the robust support of its workforce, commended Sobande for his selfless service, saying he has no regret appointing him as the Head of Service.

          He said, irrespective of any situation, his government would not lose touch with governance as he was determined to continue to deliver more of the dividend of democracy to the people of the State.

          In his response, the retired Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande thanked the Governor for the confident reposed in him and the opportunity to serve, just as he admonished the level of infrastructural development in the State under his leadership, which he said was unprecedented.

          He noted further that with the situation on ground, it was obvious that Governor Amosun has improved tremendously on issues about service, thus, enjoined all Civil Servants to keep the flag flying and maintained the standard.

          Speaking on behalf of the retired Permanent Secretaries, Town Planner Steve Adewolu, commended the Governor for giving them the opportunity, resources and free hands to serve the State.

          Earlier, members of the State’s Executive Council had showered encomium on the retired head of service, at a valedictory Council meeting, held in his honour, in the presence of the body of Permanent Secretaries.

          All members of the Council took turn to speak about his enviable approach to work and his relationship with people, as well as his passion and skills in tackling challenges.

          The Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Tolu Odebiyi, amongst others, said they have all been able to garner from his wealth of experience, affirming that he was an astute administrator.
