The House Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives has pledged to facilitate the renovation of the Ogun State Social Development Institute, (SDI) Shasha, Iperu, by making the environment conducive for improved educational standard of students.
Chairman, House Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Yusuf Amosun stated this during the oversight visit to the Ministry for year 2019 Budget Performance Evaluation at the Ministry’s Conference Hall.
Hon. Amosun said the Committee would ensure facilities were put in place for the institute to compete favourably with other institutions in the country, charging the management to regularly have meetings with stakeholders involved in the World Bank assisted projects to fast track the completion of the projects.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi noted that the ministry had been reaching out to the grassroots through various Community Cooperatives, Trade Associations, organising basic citizenship and leadership trainings, as well as commencement of Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP).
Ogunremi however urged the Committee members to look into the issue of funds to carry out capital projects for the second phase of the renovation of the Social Development Institute, Shasha.
