In furtherance of the promise made by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government to ensure Ogun State becomes inhabitable to criminals, the State Police Command has introduced Operation Restore Hope, which will last for two weeks.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson made this known while fielding questions from newsmen at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, shortly after visiting the State Governor, saying the exercise would lead to the recovery of arms and stolen properties.
“The exercise will last for two weeks; it will ensure that armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists have no place to operate during this Yuletide season. It will also give the police the advantage of working ahead of the criminals by arresting them and simultaneously lead to the recovery of arms, stolen properties and anybody that will constitute security risks to the State will be rooted out”, he said.
The Police Boss noted that to ensure tight security during the Festive period, the command has come up with Community Policing Information Network, adding that pamphlets containing phone numbers of the Police Commissioner, Tactical and Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other principal officers in the State would be provided to the public.
While urging the people to make use of the complaint and information boxes available in all Divisions and Area Commands, Ebrimson assured that all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers would ensure maximum security, as police presence would be felt at every nook and cranny of the State, saying the major task before the command was to have a secured society.
