Ogun Holds 2020 Remembrance Day

The labour of our heroes past should not be allowed to be in vain, hence all Nigerians should join hands together and make the nation one despite it’s diversity
The governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave this message at the 2020 Armed forces remembrance day celebration held at the arcade ground, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta
Governor’s office correspondent, Tunde Olaniran reports the Governor said fallen heroes should be celebrated on a daily basis and not only on 15th of January, every year
They are Heroes, Bold and tireless.
They are the guard of the peace of the nation on every front.
The paid the ultimate price for the territorial integrity of Nigeria and peace of the world. They are the fallen heroes comprising of military personnels from the army, Navy, the airforce
January 15 every year, they are celebrated across the country and Ogun state is not an exception
This year’s edition is the first for prince Dapo Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun state
With black arm band on them, the event was a solemn assembly which brings to mind the gravity of the prince paid by the fallen heroes.
The event featured the laying of wreath and other usuals
Prince Dapo Abiodun said the labour of these heroes must not be in vain
First world war, second world war, Nigerian civil war, Niger Delta crisis, international peace keeping operations and currently the fight against Boko Haram insurgency are some of the Galant Achievement of the fallen heroes.
Though they are gone, their legendary can never be forgotten
