Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye is set to convocate ten thousand, two hundred and fifty eight students for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 academic sessions as three eminent Nigerians are to be conferred with honorary doctorate degree of the university.
Vice Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo university Professor Ganiu Olatunde made this known while briefing the press on the forthcoming 28th and 29th convocation of the institution in his office.
Scheduled to commence on Tuesday 21st with an agric show and end on Friday 31st of January 2020 with the conferment of honorary doctorate degree on eminent personality and commissioner two iconic buildings of the university by the visitor to the institution, Ogun state governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, the 28th and 29th convocation of Olabisi Onabanjo university presents an opportunity to showcase the achievements of the university.
Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Ganiu Olatunde said out of total number for the two sessions, forty two students will be graduating with first class honours as Opeyemi Ayomi from Electrical Electronics department emerging as the overall best in 2017/2018 set with a CGPA of 2.76 and Chinonso Justice from the department Biochemistry as the overall best with 2.76 CGPA of 2018/2019 session.
Professor Olatunde stated that diplomas, masters degrees and doctorate degrees will also be awarded during the convocation and declared that the ivory tower can now boast of 96 percent accreditation rating.
While responding to questions from the pressmen, the vice Chancellor said a lot has been achieved in addressing the accommodation and other infrastructure challenges affecting the university.
Scholars, vice chancellors from sister universities, eminent Nigerians and parents are being expected to grace the occasion.
