Ogun State Head of Service, Tpl Amope Chokor has said that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun was passionate about improved health facilities across the State, as effort were being made to contain the coronavirus ravaging the world.
Mrs. Chokor who stated this in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while hosting members of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), and Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), said the Governor was passionate about the welfare of health workers, so they could in turn, take adequate care of patients in their hospitals.
She said that the Governor who approved the recruitment of new Civil Servants across the cadres of OOUTH, had also shown the desire to upgrade the medical facilities at the hospital.
” You can see that his Excellency is passionate about good governance and improved health facilities across the State, not just at OOUTH. He personally visited the place and ensured that modern equipment was procured for the institution.
The HoS assured that the issue of isolation unit was being addressed, advising the unions to reciprocate the gesture by being committed to work, to help the people of the State.
Speaking on behalf of members, the Chairman of NANNM, Comrade Yetunde Ogundein and leader of JOHESU, Comrade Olawunmi Omelaja, appreciated the government for upgrading teaching hospital, as well as, improving on the manpower for effective service delivery.
