Not less than five hundred indigent households in four Local Government Areas of Ogun East Senatorial District benefited from the succour provided by the Office of the Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, towards cushioning the effects of the stay at home order by government, to further contain the coronavirus ravaging most part of the world.
The beneficiaries while receiving the distributed items including; rice, beans, semolina, wheat, spaghetti, macaroni, noodles, cooking oil, tomato paste, garri, seasonings among others, unanimously appreciated the gesture of the First Lady, particularly, supporting the needy and the less privileged in the society at this critical period of Covid-19 pandemic.
The beneficiaries, comprising the aged, the vulnerable and widows lauded the efforts of Mrs. Abiodun, saying, the support was apt, given the economic situations of most residents, especially, as it regards feeding.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Romoke Bello in Ososa, who was elated at the gesture, described it as God’s favour that was manifested through Mrs. Abiodun, while her counterpart from Erunwon, Alhaja Sadiat Shittu who said she was not expecting the blessing prayed that God would continue to bless the First Lady.
Also commenting, an Octogenarian, Mr. Kayode Akinde of Okun-Owa, thanked the Wife of the Governor, enjoining her to continue the kind gesture and prayed for the success of the present administration in the State.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has reiterated her unalloyed commitment to the welfare of the poor and the vulnerable in the society, urging corporate individuals and organizations to complement the efforts being made, as government alone cannot solely shoulder these responsibilities.
Local Government Areas whose residents benefited from the distribution of these relief items were; Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu, Ijebu East and Ijebu North East Local Government Areas of the State.
