Ogun State Government in its bid to transform the infrastructure landscape of the State for the overall benefit of the people has reiterated its desire to further take the already established relationship with the China Civil Construction and Engineering Company (CCECC) to a higher pedestal.
Secretary to the State Government, Mr.Tokunbo Talabi, who stated this while receiving some relief materials from CCECC at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, said the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration was appreciative of the show of concern at this period, the world was being struck by the COVID-19 virus.
He noted that the relief support from a multinational company like CCECC, a Chinese firm, whose presence had been across the State for so long, would go a long way in complementing the palliative efforts of public-spirited individuals, organisations, state, as well as the federal governments.
The State Scribe maintained that the gesture would further cement the established bond on infrastructural development across the State, appealing to the company to endeavour to monitor the activities of its personnel, particularly at this lockdown and ensure they follow the laid down global health procedure on the prevention of the virus from spreading.
In his presentation, a representative of CCECC, Kelvin Lee, said the Company decided to support the State government in its effort to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic among the people and containment of its further spread in the State.
Lee noted that the support, which included; a new Toyota Hiace bus, Cartons of Surgical Masks and Sanitizers, would provide significant and much needed-support towards provision of critical care facilities and medical consumables for the people.
While acknowledging the concerted efforts of the present administration towards limiting the spread of the virus amongst the people, he called on the people of the state to support the State government in curtailing the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 virus.
