Ogun Govt Harps On Effective Use Of Face Masks, Extends Palliatives To CAN

Ogun State Government has presented face masks and food items to the state branch, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), with a charge to monitor the effective use of the face mask by members towards containing the spread of COVID-19 virus among the people of the State.

          Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo, who handled the presentation in Abeokuta, enjoined the leaders to ensure even distribution of the donated items to the vulnerable one in the Christian community.

          Talabi maintained that the habit of regularly wearing of the face mask would help reduce the spread of the Covid-19 in the State, which was part of global preventive measure adopted to reduce the number of infestations, adding that, the State was working hand in gloves with other relevant organisations to achieve a virus-free society.

          He assured that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government would continue to give high premium to the overall well-being of the entire people of the State, imploring the Christian body not to relent in its prayer for the State and the nation as a whole.

          Appreciating the good gesture, the State’s CAN Chairman, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya, acknowledged the innumerable efforts of the State government, particularly, since the dreaded pandemic came into existence, with an assurance to ensure the effective use of the facemasks for personal hygiene and public health safety and also promising that the food items would be given to the specified people.

           Revd Akinsanya thereafter seized the avenue to advised the people of the State to follow the laid down global guidelines on curbing further spread of the disease and should always remember to maintain social distancing whenever the need to go out arises.
