Ogun Appreciates Private Sector, Others’ Support on Fight Against COVID-19

Ogun State Government says the collaboration it has enjoyed so far with the private sector and organisations has been helpful in its fight against Coronavirus pandemic.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, when the Rotary District 9110 led by the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu made donations of some medical supplies in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Receiving the items on behalf of the government, Coker said it would be difficult for a state or nation to fight a deadly pandemic such as Covid-19 alone, describing the collaboration enjoyed with various groups and organisations since the index case was recorded on February 27, 2020, as heartwarming.

The Commissioner appreciated all donations and gestures that had been helpful in curtailing the pandemic in the State, commending the Rotary District 9110 for its donations of 30 pieces of infrared thermometers, 20 pieces of pulse oximeters, as well as, 2,000 surgical masks and latex examination gloves each, for the use of frontline health workers, as she solicited for continued partnership from other organisations on various areas of interest.

In his remarks, the District Governor, Dr. Akeredolu said the Club would continue to respond to human needs, assuring that the fight against Covid-19 would be a success in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
