Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Senate as well as Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola have congratulated House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on their 58th and 55th birthday celebrations.
The senator representing Lagos West, Solomon Adeola; the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe; Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and the Oniru of Iru land, Oba ‘Gbolahan Lawal (Abisogun II) also felicitated with the celebrators.
In a congratulatory message by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC said Sanwo-Olu had demonstrated the requisite capacity to lead Nigeria’s Centre of Excellence by putting the interests, welfare and overall good of Lagosians at the core of his policies in line with the manifesto of our great party.
“We join his immediate family, his political associates, the government and good people of Lagos to wish him a happy and wonderful 55th birthday.”
The Senate described Gbajabiamila as an anchor of democracy.
In a statement by its spokesman, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the Upper Chamber lauded the thoughtful, focused and determined leadership style of the Speaker in the Lower Chamber.
It said Gbajabiamila has contributed to advancement of democracy in the country through his vision, probity and sincerity of
Oyetola described Sanwo-Olu as a pragmatic and selfless leader who is committed to the service of his people and humanity.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ismail Omipidan said: “By these achievements, you have added your footprints on the sands of time.
“Since you assumed office, you have demonstrated what true and selfless leadership entails by the developmental projects and programmes you execute in Lagos. I hail your commitment and dogged pursuit of a better Lagos.”
Adeola described Gbajabiamila and Sanwo-Olu as forthright political leaders contributing to the development of Nigeria.
In a statement on Thusday in Abuja by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Lagos West senator said:
“I am aware of your numerous interventions on the affairs of the nation and Lagos State by Your Excellencies, particularly since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
“I can report that you have exhibited excellence in your management of a very novel occurrence requiring tenacity, insight and fecundity.”
The senator wished the duo good health and divine wisdom to continue their contributions toward national development and humanity.
Akande-Sadipe, who represents Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State, prayed for God’s favour and mercies on the celebrators.
The lawmaker noted that in their capacities as House Speaker and governor, Gbajabiamila and Sanwo-Olu have performed creditably well. well,
“Mr. Speaker, our astute lawmaker, as you celebrate God’s blessings, goodness, favour and mercy, I wish you a happy birthday,” she said.
Akande-Sadipe also prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to lead the Speaker, protect and guide him in the service to the nation and humanity.
She said Sanwo-Olu has achieved more than his contemporaries in one year.
In his congratulatory statement to the celebrators, Obasa said: “On many fronts, Gbajabiamila has proven to be in tune with the challenges facing Nigeria. He seems to have solutions and ideas at the tip of his finger…
