OGHA Oversights to Information Ministry

In Consonance with Section 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), the Ogun State  House of Assembly has Commenced the monitoring of the year 2020 Budget performance to the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government as well as Local Government Councils in the State

The Monitoring of year 2020 budget performance by the Ogun State House of Assembly which is part of its Oversight function kick started with the Ministry of Information and Strategy by the House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism Chaired by Hon. Yusuf Adejojo
Presenting the budget performance of the first half of the year 2020 before the Committee, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr Abiodun Awere disclosed that the Ministry in the period under review has been in the forefront of Creating awareness on different issues including health issues such as lassa fever and Corona Virus and environment matters like flooding among others.
Responding, Chairman of the Committee Hon. Adejojo Stated clearly that the exercise is to promote transparency  and Accountability of the Ministries Department and Government Agencies while urging the Ministry to furnish the Committee with  information on some document
Bureau of Information Technology led by Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT Mr Dayo Abiodun
while answering questions from the Lawmakers said implementation of virtual court session between the State Chief Judge Court room and the Correctional Court Center at Ibara as well as expansion of the internet coverage at the Governor’s Office with the deployment of additional 10 Access point.were part of the
achievements of the Agency
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr Toyin Taiwo informed the Committee that the Old Governor’s Office building at Oke Ilewo Abeokuta, has just been handed over to the Ministry with intension to make the venue a Museum.
 
 
The review of half of the year budget of the Ogun State Printing Corporation was presented by the Director of Administration and Supply Mrs Anime Akintunde informed the Committee that innovation of New and Modern Technology to keep the Agency Competitive.
 
Ogun State Signage and Advertisements Agency Consultant to the Governor on Signage Alhaji Odetokun also mentioned that’s agency is looking at having Zonal and District offices to boost the Agency Internal Generated Revenue.
