Ogun State House of Assembly through its House Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions has tasked the Ministry of Justice on the need to further ensure quick dispensation of justice to the people.
The Chairman of the Committee, Barr. Solomon Osho gave the advice while appraising the 2020 budget performance of the Ministry of Justice, at the Assembly Complex, Abeokuta, admonishing Law Officers to improve more on their job for effective service delivery to the citizens.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran, said the Ministry has launched a Police Duty Solicitor System, to enable those in detention have access to solicitors, who would ensure they have representation in court, hinting that Justice Clock was also implemented to reduce the number of time spent on case files.
He said plans were ongoing to have a Court of Appeal in the State, in order to attend to appeal matters, rather than travelling to other states.
