Do Not Betray Trust Entrusted On You, Abiodun Tells New Obas

Ogun State Government has installed and presented Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to Oba Adedotun Odusanya, as the new Odosenlu-Alaro in Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of the State.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, while presenting the Staff of Office to the new Monarch, charged him to use his wealth of experience to improve the lot of his people and Ijebuland at large, urging him not to betray the trust the people entrusted on him by making him their choice.

Represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, Governor Abiodun enjoined the traditional ruler to take advantage of his position to fast track development in his domain which would stamped his footprints on the sands of time.

The State’s helmsman appreciated the support his administration has been enjoying from royal fathers, reiterating government’s unflinching commitment to actualising people-oriented programmes across the State.

Delivering his welcome address, the Local Government Chairman Transition Committee, Odunola Christopher, said the Council doors were open for constructive ideas to move the town forward.

Appreciating Governor Abiodun for the confidence reposed in him, the new Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro in his acceptance speech, called on sons and daughters of the town not to relent in their efforts in bringing development to the area.

In the same vein, Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Installation and Presentation of Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Bejeroku of Oke-Agbo, Oba Adeleke Adekoya in Ijebu-North Local Government Area has said that his administration would continue to count on the support of traditional councils and the people of the State in implementing its agenda.

He maintained that traditional institution serves as a bridge between the grassroots and government, which must be properly positioned, advising the new Monarch to concentrate on activities that would enhance peaceful co-existence among his subjects, irrespective of their political, religious, as well as social inclinations.

Earlier, the Chairman Transition Committee of the Council area, Hon. Yekeen Jayeola, urged the people to cooperate with Oba Adekoya to engender peace, so as to attract laudable projects.

In his acceptance speech, the new traditional ruler while appreciating the State Government for believing in him, promised that he would not undermine the trust reposed in him, intimating that his community had concluded plans to embark on aggressive tree planting, in order to revamp the depleting state of forests in the area.
