Towards eradicating poverty and creating employment, the Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Bank of Industry (BOI) is set to give out N10 million loans to farmers and business owners via government’s anchor borrower scheme.
the President, Yewa Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (YECCIMA), Alhaji Idowu Sijuade, who stated this at a one-day seminar organized in Ilaro, said government has created a platform called “Agric Tech Fund and Market”, to assist farmers access the fund without delay.
He said the seminar was to create awareness on how the loan could be accessed, adding that a commercial bank has been mandated to further address farmers and business owners at designated areas, on how best to benefit from the facility.
Alhaji Sijuade stated that, “the interest on the loan is just five percent and it does not attract any collateral. All you need to do is to register with the government.
“The laudable loan programme is a way of empowering our people and also an avenue of creating employment for youths because, any organization or individual who access the loan can expand his business and employ more hands “.
One of the participants at the seminar, Pastor (Mrs.) Mofoluwake Matanmi, while thanking government for the laudable programme, called for more awareness on the scheme, so that many people could benefit from it.
