We Remain Committed To Make Ogun A Safe Haven – Dapo Abiodun

Gov. Dapo Abiodun has assured that his administration is committed to making the state a safe haven for the people of Ogun State, hitherto more attractive for investors being the Industrial, alongside the education capital of Nigeria.
Giving the assurance while playing host to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, who were on a courtesy visit to the Governor’s office, led by its Commandant General Dr Usman Muhammed Jahun, Gov Abiodun affirmed  that his government will do everything  possible to ensure that the security Architecture of Ogun State is Maintained at all times.
Represented by His Deputy Engr.  Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Abiodun noted that in recent times the deterioration in the state of security across the nation had necessitated the involvement of all stakeholders in the fight against insecurity, adding his administration will leave no stone unturned in maintaining security of lives and properties.
” When this Government came into power, His Excellency escalated the Security apparatus in the state, if you remember well, we have so far facilitated constant surveillance of the state through the use of Helicopter and provisions of patrol vans for the police” he said.
He disclosed that the launch of the Amotekun outfit was aimed at making the state safer by  complimenting efforts of other Security agencies in the state.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary Bureau of Cabinet and Security, Alhaji Olanrewaju Saka, informed that there was no longer rancour amongst the various factions of the Vigilante Group, as they are now harmonised and working in peace.
Responding, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Rtd Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG) Rabiu Subair, said the group has been a reliable partner in the management of security, particularly in the apprehension of criminals, alongside working in synergy with other indigenous security agencies in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, Commandant General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN Dr Usman Muhammad Jahun, said his visit to the state was in a bid to enlighten, sensitise and motivate the  officers of the VGN for effective service delivery.
While appreciating the state government for its continued support for the outfit, Dr Jahun promised to work together with the government and people of Ogun State to achieve maximum security.
