Ogun State Government in collaboration with Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), have completed the Science laboratory project, which has been under construction since May, 2019, just as it was given out to Egba Owode Grammar School to aid teaching and learning activities.
Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu accompanied by his counterpart in the Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, on an inspection visit to the school in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, said the intervention programme was in line to rejuvenate the education sector.
“This is an intervention project that would assist the teaching and learning of science subjects in this school, this is in line with the vision of the Governor, this initiative is welcome because it will ensure proper academic performance. The project will be ready for use immediately all the equipment and furniture are put in place”, he said.
Speaking, Prof. Arigbabu hinted that the physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, would be ready for use by the next session, lauding the NDIC for the projects and charged the school to maintain the facilities.
On his part, Barr. Ogunbanwo stated that the government has ensured that the project was completed in record time and for the use of learners.
The Permanent Secretary in both Ministries, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye and Mr. Kehinde Onasanya respectively, were part of the monitoring team to the school.
