Ogun State Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro has charged workers across the State to show more commitment to their work and discharge their duties effectively in order to keep moving the State forward.
Dr. Aigoro who stated this during a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State Chapter and one of its affiliate, the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria to his office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, said that the Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration has invested so much in every sector of the economy to put the State on a higher pedestal.
The HoS, while appreciating the visitation by the Organised Labour, and for their understanding on the issues raised concerning workers’ welfare, urged them to continue praying for and supporting the present Government.
” I want to specially thank you for the visit and your understanding. All these issues raised are not recent, though, Government is continuous and we will try as much as possible to resolve them by God’s grace. I want workers in the State to continue supporting the present administration, show more commitment to work and discharge duties efficiently and effectively” he said.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Emmanuel Bankole explained that the purpose of the visitation was to felicitate and wish the new HoS a successful tenure, saying that, God has a reason for selecting him, which would eventually put smiles on the faces of Ogun workers.
Earlier in the day, the HoS also played host to the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Ogun State branch, led by its chairman, Mrs. Roseline Solarin, who came to appreciate God for making one of their own, Dr. Aigoro, the number One Civil Servant in the State, calling on Government to help the Union in the area of manpower shortage, upward adjustment of their salaries and to put a stop to migration of Medical Workers seeking greener pastures outside the country.
