Manchester United have sent a message of support to their former manager, Louis van Gaal, who revealed on Sunday he is battling with prostate cancer.
Van Gaal took the United job in 2014 and lasted two years at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman won the FA Cup in his final match in charge.
“Everybody at Manchester United is fully behind our former manager, Louis van Gaal, in his battle against cancer.
“Sending you strength and courage, Louis,” United’s official Twitter account wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Van Gaal is still expected to lead his country to the 2022 World Cup.
The Netherlands are in Group A with hosts Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador.
