Youths worldwide have been cautioned to be more responsible with the indiscriminate use of the social media, the effects of which can be very dire and unsavory, capable of hunting them, when they least expect.
Ogun State Deputy Governorr, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele who made this known during a Tafsir programs with the theme ‘ Building a Better society, the Islamic point of view’ for the year 2022 Ramadan organized by her, noted that though the social media holds a lot of opportunities, it also has inherent dangers.
Engr Salako-Oyedele added that behaviors such as internet bullying amongst others, has sent many promising youths to their early graves, due to its adverse effects on their mental well being.
While emphasing that religion and society are interlinked, she revealed that parents have a vital role in ensuring their wards have a balanced upbringing both morally and religiously as a deciding factor for all round societal development.
Appreciating those present for honoring the invitations for the special tafsir program, she prayed Almighty Allah to bless the acts of Ibadah done by faithfuls and grant them many more years of to celebrate one of the strongest pillars of Islam.
In his remarks, former Senator, Ogun West, Sen. Akin Odunsi, said the state of insecurity starts from individual home, urging parents to always monitor their children and guide them morally so as to have a society free of corruption.
Representing the Olota of Ota, HRM Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Onitetiku of Owode Oba Abdulwasiu Ogungbayi, urged the league of Imam and Alfas to always remember the Deputy Governor and state government in prayers, while also urging the Deputy Governor to always put the interest of her people at heart, especially the unemployed youths.
In his teaching on the topic, Building a better society: Islamic point of view, Chairman league of Imam and Alfas Ota, Imam Khalifah Akinboyede, said the essence of governance is to ensure a better society devoid of corruption, adding that to have a better society, their is need to build a good family background, be more dedicated to God and investing in education.
Prayers were also offered for the Nation, Deputy Governor, the State and Ado-Odo Ota in general.
