Five of the cast of the Real Housewives of Lagos reality TV show broke streaming records when the first episode aired after the star-studded launch.
Revelations by celebrity stylist Toyin Lawani, actress and producer Iyabo Ojo, ex-actress, and entrepreneur Carolyna Hutchings set the pace of the drama that would be unfurled by the different characters.
The activities of the cast including Laura Ikeji-Kanu and UK schooled co-owner of Brass and Copper Chioma Ikokwu saw the show breaking the record for the most first-day views on Showmax Nigeria.
The first episode had highlights that included Lawani admitting to quitting her current marriage if her husband messes up, Ojo kissing marriage goodbye, Hutchings opening up on the challenges of being married to a billionaire, Ikeji-Kanu celebrating her fifth wedding anniversary, and Ikokwu opening up on her complicated love relationship.
Speaking on the success of the first episode, Candice Fangueiro, Head of Content at Showmax Africa says: “The reception of the first episode of RHOLagos across Africa and the UK was beyond amazing; we knew we had a trend-setter on our hands and we’re not surprised that RHOLagos is breaking records. Just wait until you see the rest of the season; fans are going to love it.”
