The ogun state governor Prince dapo abiodun has expressed satisfaction over the level of job done so far at the ongoing construction of gateway agro-cargo airport located at illishan-remo in ikenne local government area
Governor abiodun stated during the inspection of the airport alongside the managing director and chief executive officer CEO of Arise integrated industrial platform, a foreign based company.
Following the signing of a memoradum of understanding between ogun state Government and arise integrated industrial platform for foreign direct investment which will in turn provide job opportunity for teeming youth.
Governor abiodun and members of the states executive as well as some investors inspect the ongoing construction of gateway agro-cargo airport located at illishan-remo in ikenne local government area to see the level of work done.
The governor commended the contractor handling the project said he was pleased at the speed of the work with standard materials that can withstand the test of time
Governor informed that the reason behind the inspection is to let mr Gupta seeing things for himself as his company has signified intention to invest in agro processing zone at the airport adding that many organisations such as nigeria customs service, nigerian air force and others having seen the prospect of the airport in the future have then approached government to allocate large expanse of land to them for building of operational base and training schools
In his remarks, the managing director of Arise integrated industrial platform, Mr Gatan Gupta was overwhelmed by the speed of work being done at the airport saying that the company has chosen the airport as one of the areas they have considered for investment
The airport which is expected to be commissioned in December has been abandoned by previous administration stating that at its completion it would help to promote the exportation of agric produce from the state while many manufacturing companies would also spring up at the site
