In an effort to strengthen and deepen grassroots democracy, new appointments have been made into the executive arms of 18 Local Governnment Areas in Ogun State.
The Chairmen in a statement issued in Abeokuta said the new appointees will function as supervisors and consultants in their respective council areas.
The appointees, like in the earlier phases, were drawn from members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party and cognisance was taken of merit, experience, competence and loyalty.
“The backgrounds of political appointees are made towards ensuring and reengineering the State and to ensure poverty alleviation and wealth creation among the people,” the statement noted.
The statement added that the appointments were also made with a view to building a peaceful, equitable and a more prosperous future for citizens of Ogun State.
The new appointees, their portfolios and local governments are:
