Designer Mai Atafo to host first AMVCA runway show

Fashion designer, Mai Atafo, is set to host the first ever Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards runway show slated for Sunday evening.

He will be joined by show host, Miz Vick, to anchor the event, which marks day two of the eight-day event slated for this year’s AMVCA.

The hosts were announced on Sunday on Africa Magic’s official Instagram page.

This year’s edition of the awards ceremony will hold for eight days as opposed to the one-day event that had been held in the past.


The awards show, which is in its eight year, was last held in 2020. It did not take place in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The show will feature a competition for nine budding fashion designers who have been mentored by leading designers like Mai Atafo, Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi and Adebayo Oke-Lawal.

For this edition, Africa Magic in association is acknowledging the authentic African fashion and its role in the growth of the African film and TV Industry.
