Marriage is all about love, trust, commitment, loyalty, communication, and understanding. However, a successful marriage requires individual efforts from both partners.

It is not unusual for celebrity marriages to crash. In fact, these days, it’s almost expected. Albeit, there are a good number that has stood the test of time and some others showing same prospect.

Joke Sylva and Olu Jacobs

The union of veteran actors, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva, is a shining example in this regard.

According to Olu Jacobs, the moment he set his eyes on Joke, he knew she was his wife. He said, “We were having a management meeting for a play, Wole Soyinka’s Jero Metamorphosis when a young lady walked in. Immediately she walked in, something inside me told me that she was going to be my wife and I told the people around me that I was going to marry her. That was in 1981. In 1986, we got married.

They have two children Olusoji, and Olugbenga Jacobs. And they have a granddaughter, Dayo who was named after their first child who died at the age of 10.

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Captain Matthew Ekeinde

Celebrated actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and her husband Captain Matthew Ekeinde have been married for 26 years and still counting.

The couple agreed to be man and wife in 1996 and in 2001, they held a white wedding ceremony on-board a Dash-7 aircraft flying from Lagos to Benin.

They are blessed with four children, Princess Ekeinde, Meraiah Ekeinde, Captain E, Micheal Ekeinde.

Omoni Oboli and Nnamdi Okoli

Omoni and Nnamdi’s love story began when she kicked-off her acting career in 1996. The relationship lasted 4 years and when she turned 21, Nnamdi being 29 then proposed to her and they married traditional on January 20, 2000 after she graduated from the university.

On October 28 of same year, they had their white wedding and have continued to enjoy marital bliss.

Omoni and Nnamdi Okoli are blessed with three kids, Gozi, Tobe and Chizi Oboli.

Mercy Johnson and Prince Odi Okojie

The actress married her politician and businessman hubby, Prince Odianosen Okojie in a glamorous wedding ceremony which took place at Christ Embassy church in August 2011.

The couple is blessed with four children, Purity, Henry, Angel and Divine-Mercy Okojie.

Ay and Mabel Makun

The duo met when Mabel got admission into the Delta State University. According to her, “I started hearing about a guy called, Ayo Makun, who was the organiser of “The Most Beautiful Girl” in DELSU pageant and DELSU Achievers Merit Awards.

“When I finally met him, I realised that apart from been a very hardworking man, he was also very talented and intelligent. I also found out that he lost his parents while he was still in school, but managed to stay focused while he saw himself and his siblings through school. That simply became an irresistible attraction.”

The couple got married in November 2008. They have two children Michelle and Ayomide who was birthed on January, 2022, 13 years after the first.

Adesua Etomi and Banky W

Adesua Etomi and Banky Wellington tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa on November 19, 2017.

While celebrating Adesua’s birthday on February, Banky W, revealed marrying his actress wife, was the second best decision he has made after giving his life to Christ.

They welcomed their first child, Hazaiah, in January 2021.

Simi and Adekunle Gold

The music stars got married on January 9, 2019 in a private ceremony after secretly dating for five years.

Pictures from the event hardly trickled out but the couple released scenes and moments from the wedding in their collaboration titled, ‘Promise.’

They have a daughter, Adejare Kosoko who clocked two on May 30, 2022.

Ihuoma Ejiofor and Ibrahim Sulieman

The event which held at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai was one of the reasons almost everyone vacated Lagos for us.
