Ogun State government has underscored the importance of the continued support of Old Students Association to resuscitate and reposition schools to an enviable heights.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu made this call at the commissioning of the perimeter fencing, gate and gatehouse donated by the 1982 Old Students Association of Saapade Grammar School, Remo
Arigbabu posited that with the support and contributions of the association, education sector in the state would continue to receive the necessary concentration required to provide conducive environment for learners to thrive.
“With the old students association, supporting government with this effort will help take our schools to where we all envision. Government alone cannot do it and that is why we always appreciate the continue support and contributions of the association”, he said
The Commissioner commended the initiative of the association, which he said would helped to secure lives and properties, while he also encouraged them not to relent in contributing their quota to their alma mater, assuring them that government on its part would continue to give education the concentration it requires in order to make it a point of reference for others to emulate.
In his remarks, the Chairman Planning Committee of the 1982 Old Students Association set, Dr. Wale Onobiyi submitted that the reconstruction of the perimeter fencing and gatehouse was a way of giving back to their alma mater, promising that such gesture would not cease on the part of the association.
In his address, Mr. S. O. Alawode appreciated the old students for the various intervention in the school, he pointed out that with such intervention, teaching and learning activities will be made easier and safer.
