COVID19: Ogun Bags Best Performing State Award In Southwest

Ogun State has emerged the overall best performing State in the South West of Nigeria in Routine immunization and Covid19 Vaccination.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, the award was conferred on the State by the Federal Government through the National Health Care Development Agency at the Immunization Performance Award ceremony to commemorate 2022 African Vaccination Week held at Sheraton hotel, Abuja.
According to her, the award was received by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by his Deputy, Engnr. Noimot Salako Oyedele , noting that it was in recognition of the state’s commitment and support towards improving the performance of Routine Immunization and other PHC activities in the country.
While appreciating the Federal Government for deeming it fit to recognize the efforts of the state at improving the wellbeing of the citizenry,Coker attributed the award to the support and hard work of the total health force ,as well as the cooperation of residents in the State.

who appreciated the Governor for his huge investment in the health sector which is fast yielding result also thanked health workers in the state for their efforts at ensuring the state achieved the feat.
Coker explained that the African Vaccination week was geared towards strengthening immunization programmes in African region by increasing awareness on the importance of every person’s need and right to be protected from vacation- preventable diseases.
