In a bid to ensure that township roads in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State are in good shape, rehabilitation and distilling of drainages have commenced at NTA to Igbeba and frontage of Our Lady of Apostle school.
The Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Alhaji Babatunde Emilola-Gazal, who made this known during an interview with journalists at the council’s secretariat, pointed out that the rehabilitation work tagged: “Operation Zero Potholes”, also had palliative work carried out in the frontage of Oke-Nla House by Oke -Aje Market, Saka-Ashiru, Ijebu-Ode Club, Oke-Suna street, Balogun Kuku (Paramount Cinema), Alapo street and Omo-Owo roads.
He assured that the present administration in Ijebu-Ode Local Government would continue to ensure that the township roads were good and motorable to enhance socio-economic activities in the area.
The Chairman urged residents to always make use of refuse compactors at designated locations and desist from dumping garbage in drainages to avoid blockage of water channels which could lead to flooding and loss of lives and property.
