The Newly Elected President of Ogun State All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Mr. Edward Adekoya has acknowledged and appreciated various benefits being enjoyed by the Association under the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the State.
Mr. Adekoya noted this in Abeokuta during the familiarisation visit of the new executive of the ANCOPSS to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, revealing that yearnings, demands and expectations of the Association for over 30 years, such as vehicle and landed properties were met within the three years of Prince Dapo Abiodun administration.
ANCOPSS President said various distinguish awards won by the Governor were as a result of his massive investment in the education sector in the State, promising to do everything within their ability in supporting the government to realise it’s goals and policies for the greatness of the sector.
He appreciated the Commissioner for the cooperation that led to the success of the past executive of the Association, adding that the generosity gotten from him had taken the group to the higher level.
In his address, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said ANCOPSS in Ogun State have proven to be consistent, forward looking, progressive, supportive and full of initiatives in promoting the actions of the government for better education standards.
Prof. Arigbabu enjoined members of the Association to remain progressive and objective in their approach to issues in their Schools, adding that religious tolerance should be allowed for peaceful and conducive academic atmosphere.
“as long as ANCOPSS continues to pursue their agenda, it will continue to enjoy the support and respect of the stakeholders particularly the Ministry of Education”, Arigbabu said.
Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye said the ANCOPSS remains a critical stakeholder to Education Ministry, hence the need to work together in harmony for the improvement of the sector.
