Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has revealed that the revitalisation agenda of the present government in the education sector has brought about notable changes and improvement such as winning of competitions at different levels, both nationally and globally.
Arigbabu made this known in Abeokuta, while hosting learners that represented the State at the Junior Engineers Technician and Mathematics (JETS), Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN) and other competitions, lauding the efforts of the winners for doing their schools and the Ogun proud at the events.
The Commissioner pointed out that the State contingents replicated the 2021 wins by clinching 18 out of the 24 available laurels as they emerged the second overall best in the 25th edition of the JETS competition, adding that the winners cut across the public and private schools.
According to him, “I want to say here on behalf of the Governor of the State that we are proud of you all, you have made your family, school and State proud. This is Ogun standard, we win in all that we do and this is evident in the celebration of today.
In the 24th edition of JETS competition, Ogun State won 18 out of the 24 available laurels and we were the overall winner, this is the 25th edition, we also won 18 out of the 24 available laurels and the 2nd overall best winner. This shows that we are getting it right and we will not relent”.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye said the State was blessed with brilliant minds, admonishing the learners to always keep the flag flying and not relent on their efforts to achieve excellence in life endeavors.
