Abiodun Distributes School Bags To Learners, Says Education Remains Priority In His Administration 

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun through his numerous programmes and initiatives has distributed bags to learners across the state, as he emphasized its commitment towards improving the educational pursuits of the young ones.

 

Abiodun made this commitment at the symbolic presentation of the bags to schools in Abeokuta and Yewa held at Lisabi Grammar School, Remo and Ijebu schools held at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards prioritizing education, restoring standard and improving the quality of life of children in the state.

 

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said the present administration has done a lot to transformed the sector visible through the yellow roof school revolution, distribution of furniture, rewarding of academic excellence, employment of OGUN TEACh interns to complement the existing teaching staff and the distribution of school bags amongst others.

 

“I want to assure all our learners that these is a continuous gesture, as government we will continue to prioritise education and your well being. These bags I hope will help you towards protecting your books and other materials and also bring succor to our parents”, he noted.

 

The state helmsman said the beneficiaries were picked based on their performance in their respective schools, he noted that the bags would helped to protect their books and other learning materials from getting destroyed and also bring succor to their parents.

 

In their opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Olaseni Ogunleye and the Board Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Olalekan Kuye said the governor was a lover of education who has continue to encourage learners of all levels in their academic pursuits.

 

Appreciating the donor on behalf of other principals, the immediate past president of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Womiloju and the principal, Abeokuta Grammar School, Mr. Dare Sorinola lauded the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration for its giant strides in improving education standard, through the provision of free and qualitative education for the learners and the numerous initiatives to better the lot of the sector in the state.

 

Appreciating the governor on behalf of other learners, Adediran Samuel from Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Akinola Aminat from Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Isabo, Abbah Queen of Ijagba Community High School and Odusanya Israel from Ositelu Memorial College thanked the governor for the gesture and for his commitment towards improving the standard of education, while praying that God Almighty would bless him and grant him heart desires in the forthcoming election.
