Ogun Civil Servants have been charged to block all leakages draining the Government coffers by raising the alarm to expose anyone on leave of absence but still collecting salary and other things that affect revenue generation in the State.
The Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun stated this during courtesy visits by the Ministry of Forestry, led by Dr. Rotimi Akinlesi, Ministry of Transportation led by Mrs Olusola Osasona, Accountant Forum by Mrs Arinola Adetayo and Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, led by Mrs. Feyintola Odulaja, who all came to felicitate him on the new appointment.
Mr. Fagbohun said that all civil and public servants must ensure there is value for anything procured in service, advising that they should put in their best to help the Government generate income in order to have enough fund to drive the economy and attend to all their needs.
” We are fortunate to have a Governor who promises and delivers. We need funds to drive our economy and we should block all leakages, prevent wastages, let’s raise the alarm on any one who is away and still collecting salary, especially those on leave of absence” the HoS said.
He further called on workers across the State to be punctual at work and be dedicated to duty at all times.
In their responses, they all thanked the State Government for improving on workers’ welfare and promised to give necessary backing to the new Head of Service to have a successful tenure.
In a related development, the number one Civil Servant has advised the Organised Labour in the State to collaborate more with the Government and adopt dialogue rather than being confrontational.
Mr. Fagbohun who gave the advice when the executive members of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC), Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), led by Comrade Hamed Benco- Ademola, Isa Olude and Dr. Mutiu Popoola respectively, visited his office to also congratulate him on his appointment, described them as Government Strategic partner and stakeholders in the development of the State.
He called on them to continue partnering with the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration to move the State forward.
