Gov. Dapo Abiodun Felicitates Ogun Workforce

As the nation joined the rest of the world to mark this year worker’s day, the Ogun State governor, Prince dapo Abiodun has said the sum of thirteen billion naira has been paid out of the nineteen billion naira backlog of the state worker’s deductions
 
The governor therefore promised to pay the balance of six billion naira in few months time when the state economy improves 
 
Governor Abiodun made this known while addressing the state workers at the 2023 International worker’s day celebration held at mko abiola International stadium, Abeokuta 
2023 May day celebration which as has  theme” worker’s rights and socio economic justice was deliberately crafted to focus and draw the attention of the leaders to the current situation in the country.
 
 the  Federal controller of labour and employment in ogun state Mr. ITemoagbo Eshomounu also lent his voice on this year’s celebration.
 
While appreciating the loyalty and commitment of the workers in the state, Governor Abiodun informed that the sum of 88.92 billion naira has been paid as pension to the state and local government pensioners while the sum of 4.1 billion was also paid to the state and local government retirees as gratuities 
 
The governor commends the workers for their support since the inception of his administration promising that his government would continue to sustain professionalism in the public service that made the state to stand out among the comity of states in the country.
 
The highlight of the event was a march pass by the various agencies, unions, associations and government parastatals
