It is essential for the incoming corps members to take advantage of the orientation exercise, which is a starting point to cross-fertilise ideas, exhibit commitment which will facilitate national integration and development.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation ceremony for the 2023 Batch A stream 1 Corps member in Sagamu.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde said various courses at the camp would also equip Corps members with skills that would enable them to meet the challenges of the service year.
The State helmsman urged them to display highest level of responsibility, integrity, patriotism, loyalty, dedication, discipline and commitment to the nation throughout the orientation course and beyond.
Earlier in her address, the State Coordinator of NYSC in the State, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka, said a total of 1,800 Corps were expected in the camp, while 1450 had been registered with 900 females and 550, advising them to shun any act that could tarnish their image.
