Ogun State Government has lauded the collective developmental investment by organisations and well-meaning individuals in schools, describing it as a monumental feat for the present administration in the education sector.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye made this known during the commissioning of a block of four toilet facilities for staff and learners of Ogunmakin High School in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State, donated by a retired Principal of the School, Mrs. Toyin Oduntan.
Mrs. Ogunleye said a better environment for teaching and learning could be achievable when private individuals, corporate bodies, organisations support the current administration’s drive in its ‘’Building our Future Together’’ agenda, for an improved standard of education.
The Permanent Secretary appreciated the donor, Mrs. Oduntan for the soul-lifting and remarkable project that demonstrated her commitment to education and humanitarian gesture. She called on other philanthropists to partner with the State government in the development of the sector and enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the facilities.
Earlier in his address, the Principal, Ogunmakin High School (Junior), Mr. Adesoji Adegbesan commended the donor for her proactive initiative and implementation of the lofty idea despite the harsh economic realities in the country, saying the present administration’s Public-Private Partnership Policy has been yielding results.
Speaking, the donor, Mrs. Oduntan said the passion to promote hygiene and the well-being of the staff and learners had prompted the donation of a block of four toilet facilities as a retirement gift.
