Biden applauds Tinubu’s policies to reform economy

Excited by the role played by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in preserving the rule of law and democracy in Niger Republic, United States President (U.S.) President Joe Biden has applauded the Nigerian leader.
Biden’s commendation was contained in a statement released by the White House during the second day of the G-20 summit in India.

Besides, the U.S. president also acknowledged the policies so far introduced by the Tinubu administration to reforming Nigeria’s economy.


He restated the America’s commitment to reinforcing its longstanding relationship with Nigeria

The statement reads: “President Joe Biden met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu today (yesterday) on the sidelines of the G-20 in New Delhi, India to reinforce our enduring commitment to the U.S.-Nigeria relationship and to the longstanding friendship between our two countries and peoples.


“President Biden welcomed the Tinubu Administration’s steps to reform Nigeria’s economy and thanked President Tinubu for his strong leadership as the chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to defend and preserve democracy and the rule of law in Niger and the broader region.

“Nigeria’s invitation to the G-20 Summit is recognition of Nigeria’s important global role as Africa’s largest democracy and economy.”
