Activities making the 2023 Ogun NUJ press week will kick off on Sunday 15th October 2023 with a Thanksgiving service at Victory Life Bible Church, Ajebo, beginning from 9 a.m.
According to a statement by the Press Week Committee, the weeklong celebration will feature an awareness walk on Monday, October 16, followed by an official opening by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at Iwe-Iroyin council secretariat on the same day.
Other activities include the ground-breaking of the Union’s Permanent Site, along Moshood Abiola Way, behind Providence Hotel, Abeokuta, on Tuesday 17th October at 9 am, while Chapels’ variety day with indoor games will be hold in the evening at the Council Secretariat, Iwe-Iroyin, Abeokuta.
According to the statement, the union would on Wednesday 18th October, hold its Health Talk and Free medical check-up in the morning, at the Council Secretariat, Iwe- Iroyin, Abeokuta, while a Beauty Pageant Contest having representatives across the chapels holds at the same venue.
Re-launch of Press Club Inter-Schools Debate will be held on Thursday 19th October at 9 am, followed by a Novelty match at the MKO Abiola international stadium by 4 pm same day.
The weeklong activity closes on Friday 20th with a visit to a yet to be decided Motherless Home in the morning, Jumat prayer by noon, holding at Oke- Ilewo Secretariat Mosque, while Adire Gala/Awards Night which will have its venue announced later will also be held on the same day.
