The Commisioner for Education, Science and Technology , Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has once again commended the developmental initiatives of the Old Students Associations in schools across the State, noting that it was in tandem with the agenda of the present administration towards creating well befitting and conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Arigbabu made this affirmation during the Commissioning and handing over of Modern School Gate constructed by Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu Old Student Association(RDHSOSA), Class of 1984, saying the ministry have already concluded plans to embark on beautifying all schools in the State, starting with the flagship schools.
He assured of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration passion for quality education through the promotion of standards, appreciating the Class Set for joining hands with the present government in providing the kind of qualitative teaching and learning enjoyed during their time as students to the current learners.
He stated, “this is one of the things that we actually intend to embark on as government in all our flagship schools, So that as you are entering from the gate you’ll know that this is actually a school with a difference. “
In his remarks, the Commisioner for Ministry of Environment, Mr. Ola Oresanya, described the development as historical achievement, advising the Old Student Association to also look into investing in programmes that could make leaners innovative and creative, for them to meet up with global standard.
In his goodwill message, The Akarigbo and Paramount ruler of Remo Land, HRM. Oba Babatunde Ajayi expressed his satisfaction to the donors for the laudable project, praying for more of God’s blessings on them to do more.
Speaking earlier, the Principal, Remo Division High School, Junior School, appreciated the RDHSOSA 1984 set on the laudable project, assuring that they would continue to put the facilities into good use and give it regular maintaince.
In their seperate remarks, the President General, RDHSOSA, as well as the President, 84 Set, Prof. Oyinlola Oduyebo and Engr. Oladipo Adekoya respectively, commended the State Government for awakening the Old Students Association to give back to their alma mater, promising never to relent in giving their continuous support to the government by making the schools conducive and attractive to teachers and learners.
