2024 AMVCA to hold in May as Femi Odugbemi returns as Head Judge

MultiChoice and Africa Magic, the organisers of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards have announced that the 10th edition of the AMVCAs is scheduled to take place from May 10 to May 11.
The event, according to the organisers, will span two days, showcasing talents in film production, culture, fashion, music, and various aspects of African entertainment as well as the creative industry.

In the same vein, veteran film director, producer and writer, Femi Odugbemi was announced as the Head Judge for the 10th AMVCA.

The schedule for the 2024 edition of the film and TV awards was recently announced at a media gathering.

“We are on the verge of revival, revival in the African film and TV industry, a revival that would see the emergence of even greater talents and production. The submissions of this year are a testament to this revival. Over the past 10 years, the AMVCA has become a beacon of excellence recognizing and honouring outstanding talent, creativity and dedication within the African yellow and film television landscape” Dr Tejumola, Multi Choice’s executive head of content and channels said.

 

The nominee announcement will be on March 24 at 8pm, across all Africa Magic channels, after which the voting portal will open.

Femi Odugbemi, Head judge of the 10th AMVCA said the AMVCA has created recognition and celebration as well as providing a platform for celebrating the achievement of talented actors, filmmakers, directors and industry professionals across Africa.

“The nominations of the AMVCAs are determined by a specific criteria and processes and established by the jury in conjunction with Deloitte. Some key criteria for nomination would include the eligibility period; films that entered within the eligibility period and for this award, it spans from December 2022 to December 2023” Femi added.
