Principals of public secondary schools in Ogun State have been enjoined to invest more time and attention in the educational system, to enable the state attain a desired height.
The Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, gave the charge in Abeokuta, while playing host to All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun State Branch, led by its President, Mr. Edward Adekoya.
Mr. Fagbohun, emphasised the need for the association to involve relevant stakeholders in the education sector, to keep it perpetually on the path of progress and encourage their subordinates to enrol in the Health Insurance Scheme of government, to enable them have access to affordable and qualitative healthcare services.
He called on them to encourage Old Students’ Associations to take up encroachment issues in their schools, while Information and Communication Technology gadgets, in terms of Closed-circuit television (CCTV) should be deployed to ensure adequate security, assuring prompt solutions to other challenges tabled before him.
Earlier, Mr. Edward Adekoya, appreciated the present administration for various interventions in uplifting the standard of education and ameliorating the sufferings of people due to the economic downturn in the country, especially the Educash palliative, permanent appointment for OgunTeach Interns, among others, calling for recruitment of personnel and security guards in schools and appointment of Principals-General immediately after retirement, to avoid vacuum in the system.
