Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that the former Special Adviser on Vocational and Technical Education Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa who died recently in a ghastly motor accident recently was a key team player and very dear to his administration.
The Gov who made this known during a condolence visit to the deceased residence at Isara Remo added that Odemuyiwa who was a foremost educator would not just be missed by his immediate family alone but also by the All Progressive Congress family and the entire state at large.
Represented by his Deputy Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Gov Abiodun noted that while serving as a member of his cabinet, Late Odemuyiwa discharged his duties with diligence and commitment, this he said matched his administrations developmental strides targeted at taking the states education sector to enviable heights.
Abiodun encouraged the family to be consoled by the fact that he lived well and his impact was felt, praying that Almighty God grants them the needed fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Appreciating the concern of the state government on behalf of the Family, Hon. Felix Fajobi said his death was not a loss to state government alone, but to his families and the entire community, describing him as a father of all and a giver, while adding that his contributions while in government has impacted meaningfully not only in the state education sector but the entire state.
He noted that the deceased was a man of many part and has paid his dues in the political, academic and religious sectors and has also contributed to the development of his community and many lifes.
In a related development, Gov Abiodun has also said that the passing of Literary Icon and Master story teller, Pa Jimi Solanke is a void no one can fill in a hurry.
He disclosed this while paying a visit to the home of the revered Erudite Scholar in Ipara Remo stating that he will be well remembered for the impact he made intellectually by his works as a musician, an actor and dramatist.
Gov Abiodun who was represented by his Deputy Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele opined that Pa Jimi Solanke was folk law personified, an enigma who skillfully preserved the rich culture of Nigeria through captivating performances of folk tales, which he told better than anyone, a legacy he said no one could surpass.
The States helmsman said as the burial rites for his mortal remains begins, he prays eternal rest for the dear departed elder and comfort for the family he has left behind, promising Governments support in preserving the legacies he left behind.
