OGSG Begins Sales of Rice to Workers in Remo Zone

In furtherance of its commitment to improve workers’ welfare, Ogun State Government has commenced sale of rice at discounted prices to civil servants on Grade Levels (GLs)1 to 14, in Remo North, Ikenne and Sagamu Local Government area of the state.

Speaking during the event at the Methodist Comprehensive College, Sagamu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment and Training, who was also the Chairman, Steering Committee on Sales of rice at discounted rate to Ogun State workforce, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, observed that the occasion was a significant step in the ongoing effort at improving the living standard of workers in the state.

Mrs. Fajohunbo commended the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for extending the sales of the commodity to workers in other parts of the state, noting that the gesture proved him  to be a worker-friendly governor.

She expressed satisfaction at the large turnout of workers for the exercise, which according to her, indicated that workers appreciated the governor’s gesture.

Also speaking, his counterpart from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Samuel Adeogun, expressed optimism that the initiative would go a long way in cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

On his part, the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASSUS), Dr. Felix Agbesanwo, commended the state government for the exercise, urging teachers to reciprocate the gesture by being more diligent to duty.

Three of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Yetunde Udokoyi from United High School, Ikenne; Mrs. Funmilayo Kemisola from Orile Community High School, Isara Remo and Mr. Akinbowale Jamiu, Akesan Grammar School, Iperu, applauded the governor for his magnanimity, promising to always put in their best in their service delivery.
