OGSG Reiterates Commitment to Welfare of People Living With Special Needs

Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment towards continous provision of a well packaged welfare for the people living with special needs in the State to indicate all inclusive government and prosperity for all agenda.
Speaking in Abeokuta during the Official Commissioning and Handing-Over of a Blocks of three Classrooms and donation of mobility aids at Daniel Akintonde Model School for Special Needs Children in Adigbe, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said the gesture was in tandem with “Building Our Future Together” mantra of the present administration in the State.
Prof. Arigbabu noted that if people can rally together and support the government, the educational standards would further be enhanced and the lives of younger generation will be sustained, saying quality education is a key to sustainable development in the country and the World at large.
“The generosity of the donor is laudable and indeed a labour of love, care and compassion which must be accorded with commendation and honour”, Arigbabu said.
Arigbabu represented by the Director, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Mr. Oluwole Majekodunmi therefore called on all Sunday regardless of political bias to give back to society for the development of people and society at large.
Speaking, the Director of Special Needs Education, Mr. Taiwo Ilori stated that the timeless efforts of the Governor has improved the lives of learners in the State, especially the ones with special needs, appreciating the donor for the life saving generosity.
In her address, the Headteacher of the School, Mrs. Olubukola Idowu congratulated the learners for the gift of three classrooms and mobility aids, promising that the building will be put into good use.
The donor, Prince Anthony Adesina submitted that the building was borne out of the passion to help the needy, support the helpless and to commemorate his 80th birthday, applauding the government for providing the opportunity for the project.
