Ogun State government says cost for its Prince Court Estates across the state, covers lands and houses, as government fully subsidised infrastructure provided in the estates in achieving its affordable housing scheme.
Commissioner for Housing Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, revealed this while featuring on a radio personality programme in Abeokuta, saying the present administration would continue to embark on policies and programmes that would improve the standard of living of the people.
Jagunmolu Omoniyi explained that the housing sector under Prince Abiodun-led administration was not a profit scheme, rather it was meant to provide befitting accommodation for the residents.
While reacting to speculations that subscribers of Prince Court Estate, Kobape, phase 3, were requested to pay additional money, the Commissioner stated that allocations of the housing units came with some parameters which his Ministry would not compromise irrespective of the status of any of the applicants, stating that government would be fair to all.
“Ogun State government is compassionate for subsidising cost of houses for applicants who enjoyed the phases 1&2 of Prince Court Estate located in Kobape. The phase 3 subscribers who were requested to pay additional amount will have to do so because of high cost of building materials.
This administration believes in the delivery of standard projects. Our housing estates were built with essential facilities such as good road network, shopping mall, drainage system, stable electricity supply and streetlight, potable water, security and many more”, he said.
Jagunmolu Omoniyi advised applicants who are interested in moving their applications to another government estate location in Ilaro or Sagamu, to forward their correspondence to the Ministry of Housing, Block C, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
