*Abakaliki, Ebonyi State – Pius Anyim, former Senate President and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.*
Anyim, who formerly belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), announced his defection at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium during the grand finale of the APC local government election campaign on Saturday.
He was not alone in his move; Edwin Nkwegu, a former Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate for Ebonyi, also joined the APC along with other politicians.
Pius Anyim served as SGF under former President Goodluck Jonathan and was elected senator from Ebonyi in 1999 under the PDP, becoming Senate President in 2000.
