Ogun Speaker Commends Awujale’s Contributions to Governance

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has lauded the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for his pivotal role in promoting good governance and human development. Oba Adetona’s significant contributions include the establishment of a Professorial Chair in Governance at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.

In a commendation delivered while hosting a delegation from the Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies, led by Professor Akinsola Alabi Agagu, the occupant of the Professorial Chair, Speaker Elemide emphasized the Awujale’s dedication to service and his positive impact in various areas, including governance. The delegation was received at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Professor Agagu, representing the School of Governance Studies, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for enacting people-oriented legislation. During the visit, he presented copies of his book, “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria,” to Speaker Elemide, highlighting that the book would aid the members of the 10th Assembly in addressing governance issues.

Professor Agagu also encouraged the lawmakers to utilize the resources of the school, which was commissioned by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to further their knowledge in governance and public service.
