To attain academic excellence among the students, effort must be geered towards re-orientation and engaging them in things that would take their mind off from all kind of social vises and embrace good and moral behavior.
This was the submission of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun at the giving back to Ijebu North Local Government / investiture ceremony of Commissioners IV of Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Hon. Adeleye Joseph Ademola as NSCPC Colonel Ambassadoria Plenipotentiary/National Patron of the National School Crime Prevention Corps(NSCPC) to mark his birthday celebration held at Abusi Edumare Academy, Ijebu Igbo.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun said the responsibility of bringing up complete and responsible children lies with the parents and the guardians, adding that the initiative adopted by the Commissioner instead of parting with members of his family, found it very important to educate the students against all social vises is highly commendable.
While urging parents, teachers and guidance to guide against every social vises that is capable of destroying the lives of the students, the Governor said the lovely initiatives by Adeleye should be emulated by who is who in Ogun State.
Also speaking, the Chairman Teaching service Commission (TESCOM), Evan. Olalekan Ifede said all hand must be on deck at rescuing the vulnerable students for leadership sustainability in the nearest future, adding that the children that we refused to train would at the end of the day be a thorn in our society.
Ifede said students should make sure they keep to the leading of their teachers and follow the rules and regulations of the school, urging parents to join hands with education stakeholders in particular the teachers with the aim of discouraging their children from engaging in social vises that would affect their lives negativity.
Taking the students through some signs that can be use to lure them into cultism and other negative vises, Commandant Ige Folayinka said students should not be covetious, stressing that love of money is a major factor that can be use to lure students in engaging in cyber crime such as yahoo yahoo, money rituals, kidnaping to mention but a few.
Speaking with Journalists, the celebrant, Commissioner IV of the Commission, Hon. Adeleye Joseph Ademola said the students are the future of tomorrow and we all have the responsibility as a teacher, guidance and major stakeholders in the education sector to let them know that engaging in cultism huligalism and all other social vises does no good, saying reason why he choose to enlightened the students on vises that could be a stumbly block on having a great and better future.
He said following his passion for the students, instead of throwing party with friends and family to mark his birthday, he has chosen to re-orientate the students by disabusing their mind in joining bad gangs, taking substances that would make them high, joining cultism among others as a way of giving back to Ijebu North Local Government in celebration of his birthday.
