President Tinubu Signs Minimum Wage Bill into Law

President Bola Tinubu has officially signed the Minimum Wage Bill into law, concluding months of negotiations between government authorities, labor unions, and the private sector.

The signing took place at the State House in Abuja on Monday, following the National Assembly’s passage of the Minimum Wage Act, 2019, which increases the national minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000.

A delegation from the National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and including several members of the House of Representatives, was present to witness this historic event.

In response to the signing, Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, remarked that the move signifies a promise fulfilled by the administration.
