Organised Labour in Ogun State has commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the release of 10 months outstanding voluntary savings of workers, and the continuous release of outstanding gratuity to the retirees.
The commendation was contained in a letter signed by the Chairmen, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Hameed Ademola-Benco, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Akeem Lasisi and the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC), Comrade Isa Olude, has it that the release came at a period when every citizen is passing through a daunting economic challenge in the face of strategic policy reforms to return the nation to a path of greatness.
They expressed delight over the Governor Abiodun’s gesture, saying it would further reinforced the credibility of the government and confidence of the workers to the present administration.
The trio submitted that the payment would go a long way in strengthening the mutual relationship between state government and members of the organised labour, noting that the payments would engender greater efficiency and ameliorate the rising discontent of a large swath of the citizens, especially the workers.
